separation of powers simile

The separation of powers and checks and balances are like a computer and a mouse. Neither works well without the other and they both need to rely on each other in order to work best.

  1. I find your simile interesting. It is sort of how the three branches are separate just like the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. However, the keyboard serves no function without the screen, and the screen serves no function without the keyboard or mouse, and the mouse serves no function without the screen. It is like how the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches do not work properly without eachother.
